Chemistry Australia Member Annual Health and Safety Forum

17 October 2022

Chemistry Australia hosted a Member Health and Safety Forum on Monday 17 October 2022 to celebrate the launch of its Annual Health and Safety report, which is now live on the Chemistry Australia website.

The agenda for the event included:

  • a report on the outcomes of our 2021 Member Health and Safety Survey;
  • a discussion on expanding the annual Health and Safety survey to include other key industry metrics, including process safety, environmental and sustainability performance
  • presentations by state Health and Safety Authorities
  • a presentation by the Commonwealth Department of Climate Change Energy Environment and Water (DCCEEW) on the Industrial Chemicals Environment Management Scheme (IChEMs); and
  • an update on the regulatory developments across all jurisdictions, including the current review of the Workplace Exposure Standards.

The Forum was the first face-to-face member event in more than two years and was held as a hybrid online and in person event.

Chemistry Australia looks forward to hosting similar events in future.  If you have suggestions for other topics, please email Chemistry Australia at: .
